Well, I thought I had good news Michigan!

Drove thru Stevensville on my way to the windy city this past weekend. Nary a flake on the ground. Last year, same weekend, they had snow piled on the sides of the road to the top of the car. Thought it was a good omen but I see they are gonna get hit but good tonight with 8-10". Around here we are just freezing our backsides off. Not looking forward to the first big heating bill coming a month early.

17 degrees F right now here in Alpena (tip of the mit). Been cold and miserable here for over a week.

13 degrees at 4:30am here in the thumb, add in wind chill, it feels like ZERO!!!! This is way too cold too early! However, this is the first time this year I can say the ground is hard enough to drive on without making tracks... I do not think the ground dried up enough here all summer to where I was not leaving tracks. All I can say now is that I hope 2015 is a much better year.

13 degrees in Grand Blanc this am.
I had a new knee installed on my left leg 6 days ago so I'm rather restricted. I sat here in the house trying to explain hooking up a water heater for the livestock to my wife. I drew a couple of pictures then got on the phone with her while she was in the barn attempting to do so. As a last resort she was going to bring the loader tractor to the house with an empty pallet and take me and my walker to the barn. But I think she got it ok.
I would have set it up before I went into the hospital but I never dreamed a water heater would be needed much before December. I figured I'd be getting around ok by then.

I took this picture in Wyoming, MI at about 3:30 yesterday afternoon.
Radio says Walker has gotten another 13" since midnight.

Towns right along the lakeshore got nothing, but ten or twenty miles to the east got hammered with lake effect snow, because the wind was blowing so hard.

Wow! My grandmother lived in Wyoming for a very long time before being transferred to assisted living in her 90's. I don't remember her talking much about heavy snows but she must have had them living where she did. She was one tough lady.

Wife left for work around 3:00. We're still able to get out of the driveway. Should be all gone by Monday. It's too soon for this.
