My 1135 lost the motor this summer. I am considering rebuilding but have some offers of perkins motors from 750 and 760 combines. This is our yard tractor and does not see pulling excpt getting the occasional motorist unstuck from the ditch. We have a forklift mounted on the 3pt and it does lots of tasks. Will the combine engines work? Dont have the new motor local to look at. Not a perkins man, mostly jd. I learned to drive tractor in this one so would like to keep it around.

Have you mentioned this on the MF forum? They might be able to help you more there. Ive always liked the 1100 series. Wouldn't mind having a 1105 myself.

Same engine, may need to change a lot of external stuff. I put a V8 from a 860 in a 1155 once. I think the only thing from the combine i used was the block and heads. I had to use from the tractor engine the injection pump, intake and exhaust manifolds, flywheel, water pump, about all of the external stuff. As long as you have the complete tractor, you are good.

Some one has mentioned to me there is a spline in the rear of
the crank for driving a component, havnt split mine yet to see. I
know the harmonic balancer is splined. We just do yard work so wanting the eninge to sit right in, less the pan. If i adapt the air and exhaust to combine engine all others will match?

I know when you put one in an Oliver you have to pretty much strip it top the bare block and head then put the tractor parts on it. Even the front cover has to be changed so the pan will fit.
I know too that you can't put the manifold off a White 2-85 or 2-105 on the combine engine, even though they use a 354 Perkins too. The bolts are horizontal on one and diagonal on the other. That's something you might want to look at. On the 1850 Oliver they're the same as the combine.

Look at the front crank pulley. 2 types are splined and I think retained by 3 bolts or woodruff key retained by one bolt.
They is lots of discussion archived in MF forum father down the page.
