Better than Bait Bars

I have a 60 x 120 machine shed that I store the old tractors and old cars in. Each fall I drop bait bars around the perimeter every 16 feet to dull any mice that are looking for winter housing. Usually see several mice laying in the alley ways or outside after a week or so. I drained the radiator on my '53 Chevy and left about a gallon of antifreeze in a 3 gallon pail under the front bumper. Two days later I had five dead mice floating in the anti-freeze (???)

I use Tomcat bait stations placedby doors of 40x60 shop. I use them to keep dog from getting into poison.

dad used to put a few inches of water in a bucket and then sprinkle corn meal on it to catch mice. I have found that an empty 5 gal bucket with a trace of grain in the bottom will catch mice too. I guess they can't jump straight up. and in freezing weather they will die of exposure.

Well, the green antifreeze is poisonous to animals.

Supposedly it is sweet smelling and tasting, and animals will drink it almost uncontrollably.

I could never get it to happen. Had a woodchuck in one of my sheds. Mean cannibalistic bugger. Because I'm in a residential area I can't discharge firearms, and any time I do anything even remotely questionable, the local authorities show up. Tried leaving the woodchuck a tasty bowl of antifreeze right by his entrance. He never touched it.
