Central MN snow storm how ya'll sitting?

Got ZERO tillage done, waiting on shop to repair my tillage tractor, 40+ acres of corn left, and they're saying were getting 12+ inches the next 36 hours. Kinda sucks, not ready for snow one bit. How are the rest of you sitting?

i'm a little further north than you. southern Alberta Canada. started snowing last night and been coming all day, about 6 inches so far. supose to carry on all night again. actually our second snow fall, had about 4 inches last sunday but that all melted off last week. think this one might be here to stay as there forcasting minus 6 to 10 for highs and minus 15 to 30 for lows all next week. by the way thats celcius so better than if they were talking farenheit but still dang cold

Harvests done, fall tillage is done, calves are sold, cows run thru the chute. All I need to do is cut a few loads of wood for the shop boiler and I'm ready as I can be for winter.

Beautiful weather here in Southern Illinois. Sun was out and temp in the mid 60's. But supposed to be freezing by mid week. We just got done with corn harvest last night. Got stuck pulling the last load out with the auger wagon. Luckily still had a old 68 JD auger wagon. Made 5 trips with it to the road. unloading the other one. You-all have been there backing under the spout after dark with a tree in the way. We are very thankful. The good LORD was very good to us this year no one was hurt and the yields were fabulous, best we ever had. Ready to get serious about antique tractor pulling. :) Vic

We're set to get our first frost tonight in eastern WA...most of the work is done. Looking at lows around 12 for Tuesday night...that will be a shocker! I need to buy me a new anti-freeze thingamajig to check some tractors tomorrow!

In my part of NWIA they are talking small chance if light drizzle possibly freezing. Then lows in the lower teens for the rest of the week.

You need to catch up we finished last night. Been farming 41 years and this is the best year I have ever had. Good corn and bean crop. Had corn contracted for a good price and al in all just a great year. North Middel Tenn

Not ready, but can't change it. My corn is still in the field at 28% moisture, no more than a weeks worth of firewood on hand, and less than 1/2 of the manure hauled out. However, I think winter is going to catch me. I could have used another month of the weather we were having.

i'm not ready for snow or rain either i shredded some corn stalks this afternoon i hope we can get them baled tomorrow i need only 100 small squares or so for bedding.
weather guesser is saying tomorrow monday will be last good day for awhile.
i hope snow stays away for awhile we can use a winter with little snow. we seem to have had lots of that white stuff the last several.
i'm on the il wisconsin state line.

Done with harvest except for 2 acres of wet ground that's corn was hoping to get some dirt work done this fall cleaning up an old farmstead patching cutouts along creeks, tiling and such. But that looks like it's over with low teens for temps overnight and not getting out of the 20's during the day but by Friday the wet ground will be solid enough to finish the corn. Guess there's a silver lining.

A county west of you.....beans are done couple weeks ago, don"t have corn. Ripped the bean ground, fert co-op did the grid sampling, applied dry, then anhydrous this week chiseled in.

Summer project was stumps/rocks in quarter mile fence line- by 9 tonite have about 2 loads rock to pick...next spring is soon enough. But first snow and frozen ground usually give way to a thaw before final freeze-up. In 41 years, earliest freeze-up was Nov 7, one year it froze once and stayed frozen. Otherwise, always a freeze/thaw/freeze.

Renter has a bit of corn to finish, waiting for combine repairs.

"90 and "91 we had Halloween storms....harvest was over, finished in winter. Not the first rodeo.

We been head down and tail up for the last month, I'm ready, Son's are ready, firewood in house and shop, snowblowers on tractors, loaders on etc. Banked the house and covered the drain field today, shed packed, project in the shop. Son in law ripped the last little patch of corn off today, put combine away and is probably out in the field with the chisel right now, hauled manure all week etc, let her come, the guessers are saying 14 to 16 and cold till further notice. I even put the plow on the pickup.

Jim,
I purchased my Toro blower with a 7 hp Tecumseh in 1973 and it still runs great! It's on it's 2nd set of skids, 2nd starter, maybe 5th drive belt and a spark plug or two. It's burned a lot of ethanol blended gasoline.
Too bad Tecumseh is no longer making engines.

Down to about 50 acres of corn, cannot get loader tractor ready until that is done because it is on augers.

I have everything on home place done.

Got the studded tire on the Tahoe, got the plow on the Honda Rancher, the loader on the Farmall 95.
Fired up both gensets, topped them off with fresh fuel. Have15 gallons non ethanol stocked up for the. All the propane tanks are topped off. 500 gallon tank is full. Muck boots brought in to warm up. I'm ready.
