Fabbing a filter housing

I want/need to put an auxillary hydraulic filter in line on a tractor.The elements are about 6 inches long,about 2 inches diameter with one solid end. They are JLG part #10866416. Question is : should the oil circuit from the inside out? I can fab a housing if i can determine this. Thanks in advance.

Is there a reason you cannot pipe in a standard filter adapter and filter?

Most tractor supply stores carry them.

Oil going through a filter should come from the outside of filter to the center of filter if that is what you are asking.

Way too large;want to hide it under fender of JD CUT.Do.'t want it to look cobble up.

I guess we are being stubborn but I can,t see how you can FAB something any smaller than what is available. There are filter mounts out there that are only the diameter of the filter. Are you planning on making something smaller than the filter end diameter?

Just curious, if I may be??? Are you filtering the suction side, the return side, or the pressure side?

Oil should go from outside to inside.
