vs,

I keep antifreeze in my tractor and trucks, so I'm all set with them, But, a couple of days ago, I treated my pressure washer with "Pump Saver" to get it ready for bad weather, and blew out all of the hoses on my field sprayer and orchard sprayer. I have some short hoses that go from my water hydrants to my water troughs, so I have to drain them regularly through the winter every time I fill the water troughs (nearly every day).

I also broke out my winter clothes (hooded sweat shirts, PAC boots, heavy chore coat, and ski mask).

I'm not looking forward to the winter, but I guess I'm about as well prepared as I can be.

I keep antifreeze in tractors and trucks goina put antifreeze in the combine this year to since I finally got it running again . How cold does it get where you live .

Up here in northern ont. we use antifreeze all year and usually check it in the fall , because occasionally water is added for top up.

vs,

I live in the southern part of the middle part of Tennessee. I'm about 40 miles south of Nashville, about 50 miles north of the Alabama border.

Our winters usually have a couple of snowfalls that last for a few days each year, but that's usually all. The temperatures typically are in the teens at night and the 30s during the day during the winter. Occasionally, the night time temperature will drop to zero, but that's pretty infrequent.

Having said all of that, I'm one of world's worst weenies when it comes to cold. It just cuts through me to the bone.

I grew up in Northeastern Ohio, I've lived in Maine, New York, and Minnesota (along with six other states with milder climates) and I have always hated cold weather.

The only redeeming value of winter is that fact that we don't have any ticks, chiggers, mosquitoes, or wasps during the winter. That's a big plus.

I have to pick up a new antifreeze tester. I was checking radiators yesterday and they were all reading the same. Finally when I tested some that was diluted in a jug and only faint color, I decided that I wasn't going to trust it.

I keep antifreeze with rust inhibitors year around. In terre haute, we have sub zero temps. I think our record may be around -25.
