What's with lady bugs today

Are they lady bugs or those Asian whatever bugs that look similar to Lady bugs but are orange?

Those things are looking to get inside for the winter. They stink if you squish em.
 
They're not lady bugs, they're Japanese (asian) beetles. We get hit with them when the farmers start harvesting beans. One year we had 2 shop vacs going and pulled in over 1000 of the damn things. We put em out in the driveway,poured gas on em, set em on fire. Stunk like he11,but they won't be back to bother us. At least that batch.
According to the scuttlebut, our local DNR had them brought in to fight aphids, all they do is drive us nuts.Drop off the ceiling onto the dinner table,not to mention,bite you and leave welts, I'm sure I don't look like an aphid.lol
Be patient, snow will fly and they will disappear,until next year. Please keep them down there, as we have had our share up here and are finally being controlled by the cold winter.

I know they are Asian. We still call them lady bugs. Everyone still knows what I was talking about.

So, what do they call the male version of the lady bug? Gentleman bug? Good thing they don't spread the Ebola virus the way the bite.
 
In the early 2000's asian beetles were released across the Midwest to eat aphids on soybeans. By 2003 they caused more problems for area home owners than they solved for soybean growers. Of course no one was accountable. The little monsters are still around here, but not in the extremely high numbers of ten years ago.
 
Those yellow asian beetles were everywhere in Misouri. I have vacuumed up thousands of those suicidal bugs in the house. They just came out of nowhere one year it was disgusting
 

hi neighbor. I am over by El Dorado Springs, MO. I see you are in Lake of the Ozarks. I live in San Jose, CA now but visit from time to time.
