Well, we had just a touch of frost this morning, first time this fall. The whole day was just spectacular. Not a cloud in the sky, and dead calm all day. High temp. 57F, but with the sun it felt much warmer. We live just off of US Rt. 20 and for the first Sunday all summer there wasn't the roar of motorcycles all day. I really noticed and enjoyed the quiet. Took this series of pics from our back yard throughout the day.

Pretty country, not too different from some of the countryside here in central NC. Except our leaves don't have near that much color yet. Thanks for the photos.

Loren, that sure is a lot better looking land in your part of New York than where I grew up. I also had rocky soil and 2000 ft. elevation always seemed like winter was 8 months long! Greg

Very nice Loren. The red on the trees is awesome. Haven't been able to log on for a while, but it's all fixed now. Jerry.

OOOhhh, very nice VAWT, how do you like it? Has it paid for itself yet. I'm always interested in alternative energy sources, but I know zip about electricity.

During the summer I catch the Ren fair up in Sterling. I think so much of upstate NY is very pretty. On route 20 there is a HUGE farm operation on the way to Auburn. HOW many cows do they have!!?? Over there in Boonville that lumberman show is a hoot. Some huge wood machines. It was fun watching the girl chainsaw contest! Croghan is a cute little town with the railroad station. Real funny is Govenour. I know the spelling is wrong but the big deal in that town is a native son. In the town square is a monument to him. He invented the LIFE SAVER candy! There is a big roll of them in the town square. I would love to move there till your A-- hole government put in a whole bunch of total feel good BS gun laws that do absolutily nothing good of any kind. I think NY state is now the new california of the east coast. I know it is a rant but how dumb can they get?

Beautiful country in the Fall. I used to fly from Seattle to East Hartford and was lucky enough to do that in the fall during the day light hours. I remember the vivd fall colors in upper New York state from 35,000 ft. You pictures reminded me of that.
Thanks.

A great deal of NY looks like all that. Sadly, it's the highest taxed state in the nation and is dying economically. When you have citiots ruling a rural state it's bound to happen.

It was a beautiful day. The only bad part about this time of year is what follows.

It sure was a great day. I'm in Vermont about the same here. We had a good white Frost this morning. All done for the year till snow comes so I wash the tractors.

Loren, I love your pictures. I also admire your garden. Is that a wind generator that looks like an antenna? If so I'd be interested in something like that. My email is open.

No doubt about it, a lovely Fall day in NY! Only pics taken here, though, were of my grandson's first turkey. His Papa got several of the intrepid young hunter. We sat out for a while on one of my deer watches enjoying the day, and a nice young tom just happened along. Probably take a couple of the granddaughters out today. Next weekend it gets serious. Muzzleloader for deer opens. I'm out of sausage, balonga and just about out of jerky. Used the last cured ham at Easter. Time to restock the venison.
