My sons 2002 Impala, The electric door locks quit working. Is there a module that has gone bad? Or what causes this too happen? Battery in the remote is good.

You mean only the keyless remote function doesn't work, or the power door locks don't work at all?

Check fuses and relays. Don't forget to check the fuses in the power distribution box under the hood. If the fuses are ALL good, the next most likely problem is a broken wire in the wiring that goes from the door to the body. Most likely the one on the driver's door.

Power locks on that vehicle are ultimately controlled by the Body Control Module. I would check the fuses first, I think the lock fuse in in the left dash fuse block. I have seen the BCM make an incorrect decision and try to lock and unlock at the same time and blow the fuse. The BCM is also a high failure item on this vehicle, I would not be surprised if it is dying. It requires a Tech 2 scan tool to setup. BCM can also cause problems with the A/C and lighting.
