Syncro-gear pops out of position

I have a John Deere 4400 with syncro-gear forward reverser It wants to pop out of either forward or reverse when tractor first starts to move. If you hold it in until tractor starts moving then it does not pop out of gear.

Sounds like your synchronizers are going out.

Could it be linkage slop?

your sycros are worn and need to be replaced sorry ts the only cure for that.
