"93 F250 Ford. Need to replace the windshield motor. The cowling over the wiper arm gears can't lift off because it hits the hood. Does the hood have to come off to get the cowling off to disconnect the gear/arm from the motor? Got a Chilton manual, but not much help.
Thanks

If that what it takes to get the grill out then yes... I have taken one side loose with a helper and worked the grill out... The only reason I did not take the hood off was both of use had shoulder issues at the time...

Book time is 1.3 hr. so its no cake walk...

It's tricky but it will come out with the hood in place. Seems like I had to use a prop rod and lower the hood just a few inches to get it to clear. Can't remember if I loosened the hood bolts in one corner or not. It's been years & my memory ain't what it used to be.

Thanks,
I did have to loosen the bolts holding the hood on and shove it as far forward as I could, then fangeled around to come out. Still haven't got the clip to give up yet, but it's gonna happen.
1.3 hours?? haha, I've been 1.3 days and counting.
