hog hunting

going to Florida for the winter and looking for a place to do some hog hunting and will trade deer hunting in WI. one person ME 62years old and have been on the farm all my life so i know all the bad stuff some will do to your place {NOT ME] i will also work for the right to hunt if it has tires or tracks i have run it. i do not smoke or drink have CDL and have run my own excavating co. for 45 years Thank you

Theres no doubt they are down there. Hauled a car down there last year and i thought i was seeing a dog on the side of the road as i was getting closer. I said dang that was a big ol hog right on the side of the highway walking from the bar ditch back towards the woods and he wasnt in no big hurry. So have fun be carefull

just hope i can find a place to hunt. it is one of the few things i have never hunted and just want a chance to do it would like to use the bow or crossbow but will use anything even a baseball bat if need be

I have went on a paid hunt for a hog a few years back here in north carolina. It was pretty fun but was in a deer stand. I know if your on the ground you have to be carefull they will charge you and depending on the size of there cutters they could do some serious damage to you. Bought my first crossbow this year to get in the woods sooner on the deer. Been a couple times already but nothing yet.

I've been told by those who have done so that a hog is a really bad thing to hit with a vehicle. The animal is real solid, tends to roll under the vehicle and can do a lot of damage to the underside of the vehicle.

On youtube there are short films of guys inside a helicopter shooting hogs with AR15s. Very cool, just plink away, one after the other.

You might try putting an ad on the farm section of Craigslist in the area you're headed with your information,I found a great fellow to trap coyotes for me that way.

Drop me a note (email is open). I live in N. FL near Jacksonville. Osceola Nat'l forest is my backyard. I also teach Hunter Safety for Florida Fish & Game.

While the area I hunt does not have hogs (that we have found) there are hogs in the area.

Depending on the area you are going to be in FL will depend on hog densities. Check out FWC website for some details.

Echoing what was stated above - hogs are tough.

I live in SW FL where we have plenty of Hogs,drug dealers and crooked cops.I'm south of the Flywheelers show grounds so you could probably take in a show or two. I have a JUNGLE of 42 acres abutting 100 or so acres with restricted access and Plenty of hogs. e-mail me at: [email protected]
