Hi I have an Australian IH series 6,W6,OS6 it was built in 1954 according to the plate number.

The stamped aluminium plate located on the dizzy side of the engine reads "AOS6 3560" and the bottom stamping that I presume is the max revs at 1595.
I am trying to work out what carb the tractor would have?

I know left and right, starboard and port, but which is the dizzy side?

If you are sitting on the seat with the steering wheel in front of you, it is on the right side.

Distributor side? Seems like dizzy is the short for distributor "down under".

Only way I know anything about it is that a bunch of Hudsons were shipped down under back in the day, with the result that there is a pretty large contingent of Hudson enthusiasts down there. There's even a guy who is a mechanical expert, and does articles for the club magazine. I was puzzled by the term "dizzy" until it was finally explained.
