we were rolling hay stopped to bump a roll. put it back in gear let out on the clutch, nuthin no noise just nuthin wouldn't pull. we got it home yesterday I took the top cover off I can spin the ta clutch and it will drive the transmission . the whole assembly has a lot of slop to it up and down sideways is there a short shaft between the main and ta clutches?
i cant tell much about it on the parts break down. does any one with pictures that don't mind sharing with me ?

Hard to tell from here but a broken pinion shaft will stop froward motion. The broken side will spin free just like if you had one wheel sitting on ice.

Not trying to be a jerk, but does the 560 have keyed wheels like the 460? I ask cuz I know someone that bought a 460 cheap when the "trans went out" and it quit moving. Come to find out the big key had fallen out of the rear wheel and the guy couldn't see the axle spin from the seat. Just a thought

Clutch shaft, Clutch hub (possible) or the TA clutch shaft. All need to be good. Probably split time. Jim

Not the same sort of tractor and very probably not the issue, but some years ago when I was young and poor, I bought an M Farmall had apparantly gotten stuck and someone spent all day rocking it back and forth. Anyway went to hook up to the disk put the trans in gear - no move. towed to what I called a shop in those days, took out both axles, both bull gears, turned the tractor up on its side (OOPS!), got all the way down to the bottom of the case, cleaned up all the metal shavings down there replaced a twenty five cent woodruff key, went back to work,

If you are talking about a lot of play in the TA clutch assembly, the nut that holds the flywheel to the TA input shaft has come loose. If the play is severe you will probably have to replace both the shaft and the flywheel to get it to stay tight.

The shaft coming from the clutch disk has a coupler connecting it to the TA input shaft. It is not unusual for that coupler to wear the splines enough to slip. You should be able to see if the clutch shaft turns with the TA clutch assembly to determine if this the problem.

The tractor will have to be split behind the engine to access the shaft and coupler. Once the shaft is out the TA clutch can be removed to gain access to the nut that holds the flywheel to the TA input shaft.

I haven't been back to it yet. yes I can grab the whole assembly the ta clutch, pressure plate and move it around way too much for my likings thank you guys for taking the time to respond with the helpful information
