...in my head. When the tractor breaks down you sell it as "running when parked".

Then take the money and buy another one. I cannot believe I never figured that out before!
 
You just don't want to tell them about the big bang or grinding noise when it came to an abrupt "park" though.
 
No kidding...actually have one of those sitting outside the shop. Tractor I bought as running but I must of missed something because it made a bang and stopped. #1 piston busted all to pieces. Cost more to fix than it is worth and I don't have time to do it.

Just curious what tractor it is (make/model)?
 
On the bright side, many of them are worth more for parts than whole.
If you have the time, patience and space/organization to do it.
I don't, but I still seem to have accumulated a bunch of parts!
