Ford 4500 TLB update. (pics)

Hey folks.

I got the backhoe in the shop and removed the engine.

I know that you are supposed to split the tractor and roll the nose section away but the tires were shredded and the PO had partially disassembled the front end anyway.

The removal went pretty much without incident however I was surprised at the weight of some of the components. A fifty pound oil pan is interesting.

Anyway my next move is to see if my engine stand will support the weight of this 3 cylinder diesel engine. I had a fully assembled 460 ford engine on it so we will see.

Looks good Brad.
I'm cobbling together a sister to that one here.
A 4400 though. No loader or BH - just the tractor.
I put an 8 speed/rear end with 3 point and IPTO from an ag model in it.
New engine, paint, rebuilt steering, etc.
Putting the final kibosh on it here.
Got the fenders back on this afternoon.
Need to finish soon as my "shop" is tough to heat in winter.
Been looking for some used ag style tires for it all summer but there's none to be had in 16.9X24
Might have to spring for new ones.

Hey Udog.

That is a nice looking machine!

Hope to get mine looking nice like that.

I was wondering how the battery mounted on my tractor and you showed me.
