Glennster, wow, I tried out the software you recommended for cleaning up nasty files. Thank You for the info. I have been fighting a CPU usage issue off and on for a while and tried out ninite.com and their security package. It cleaned up a ton of stuff and even found a virus that AVG was not catching. My machine runs like new.

Glad it helped you out. Our shop computers werevgiving us fits for quite a while, we ran avg. a geek buddy of mine took a look and found that our systems werevinfected. He explained that the hackers from eastern block countries hack in, load malware on your system and then use the hack to sell your processing time. Facebook and email attachments are great places to pick up malware.

If your firewall or router software will allow you to block internet domains, *.ru and .chi are great ones to add. I added most of eastern Europe and Asia to my blocked domains. It is not bulletproof, but it at least makes them go to the effort of hopping somewhere else first. Your computer won't see traffic originating there.

That, and getting completely off Windows. I realize that is not an option for some people.
