OT Cub Cadet Zero Turn Help

Mower is about 9 years old. Was mowing and working good. Disengaged electric clutch to talk with SWMBO. Went to start mowing, and when I went to engage clutch. mower died and would do anything. got it back up by the shop, and found that the wires to the clutch somehow got twisted around part of the clutch and the wires rubbed by the belt. How are these wires supposed to be routed. Also, the belt that runs the deck rubs against itself. The tensioner pushes the belt tight, and there is enough play that it pushes it against the belt going in the opposite direction. Have not found a way to adjust this. If I can't get this working, will need to use the MF135 and 6' finish mower, but that would tear up the yard to much.

There should be an arm that keeps the magnet part of the clutch from rotating. If the wire were pulled tight and wrapped where they shouldn't have been, the arm may have come loose and caused it to rotate.

Sounds like either the belt is too long or has come off one of the pulleys. Re check all the pulleys, tensioners, and routing. If it still rubs, it's too long.

The belt is the Cub Cadet belt and it is on the correct pulleys. The Elect Clutch pulley, the pulley on the deck and the Idler on the tensioner.

They definitely do not make them to be easy to work on.

Sounds like time for a new belt, when the old one gets so loose you can't adjust the tensioner enough to make it work.
