Of doing business on a Friday afternoon around here! Called the bank to handle some estate stuff...voice mail, called the welder to see could he run over and take care of a couple jobs...voicemail, called the township to talk about building on farm...only open three days a week, one of which is Friday. At least they were honest, gone home for the day. Called the State of Michigan to complain about the township infringing on the Right to Farm Act...voicemail, called for IH parts...voicemail. Called the township attorney to see can he straighten out his client...voicemail. Is this a Michigan thing or are we slowly grinding to a halt everywhere?

You wanted us to reply by email? But can you imagine if email and tweeting or whatever came first how astounded we would be if you could instantly just talk over a wire to someone across town as if you were face to face? :) TDF

Yep !

I tell people that texting is no better than the old Morse code tapping away dot dot dash dash.
You can actually TALK to someone !

should have tweeted them or posted on Facebook. Thats all most of these idiots know . Telephones are now passe',

If they're not there, and I'm not here; then we don't need to be conversing/texting now do we?!!

LOL!

:>)

I have much better luck calling on the next Monday than on a Friday afternoon or the afternoon before a holiday. Too many Friday afternoon messages get lost or forgotten by the following week. A Monday morning call can put you on the top of the list for that week.

Worked at a place for 8 years. 4 ten hour days, friday was only if on overtime. Drivers license place, a hair cutting place, and a restraunt all closed on mondays. Another cafe is closed on tuesdays. If you go to the tire shop after about 3:30 on friday, those guys will all have their feet up and having a beer or drink. Don't plan on getting them to do anything. Seen em set their beer down, and answere the phone and say "not going to be able to get to it today, bring it in monday". Hang up the phone and pick up their beer and start shooting the bull again. LOL. Its not like it use to be.

I think in Michigan, a lot of places went on reduced hours during the recession, and never picked up the hours.

The clinic that I go to is just a mile away. If I show up at 7:00 with a real medical problem, they take me in right away. If I show up at 5:00 pm, they get me in right away. It is real busy, but they reallt work at taking care of patients, depending on urgency of the problem. They have a nurse practioner that is as good as any doctor that I ever had, plus 2 doctors and 2 PA's.

It is one of the better places that I go to in this day and age.
