Had to laugh.......

On the editorial page of the Lincoln newspaper yesterday, there was an editorial cartoon.

It showed six panels of a female news anchor reading world news. I forget most of it, but in one panel she said, "Ferguson Police Department has offered to send three armored regiments to Ukraine".

No offense to anyone from Missouri, but it coincided with my warped sense of humor.

Don't give them any ideas. )

I guess you would have rathered that the Ferguson Police department let the rioters loot the entire St. Louis area????

Mr. JD Seller expressed my sentiments, but in a much more civilized way than I would have.

If you want to be serious about it, how about the two white St. Louis policemen a few miles away who shot and killed a black man standing 12 feet in front of them appearing to be holding nothing but a pocket knife? Each office fired at least four or more times.

The officers claimed he lunged at them with a knife. Yeah, right. I watched the video a half dozen times and that, my friends, was nothing more than cold blooded murder. And the scary part is the St. Louis Police Chief said he would have done the same thing.

Why wasn't that given more publicity?

About the same time as all the rioting and looting, a white man was killed by a black cop in Utah. Situation was very similar. No reports on national news because it causes more dissention and rioting as was on national news.

Goose- I too, saw the video. I felt the cops were justified because the mentally unstable (witness testimony) guy would not drop the knife when ordered to do so.

If you were holding a weapon and the cops had their guns drawn on you, wouldn't you drop the weapon when ordered to do so?

If you don't drop the weapon...we know what the outcome IS going to be.

I didn"t see the video, but the rule of thumb to give the right to shoot, is 20 feet. Whether someone is at a dead run, or simply standing still, the average person can easily cover that distance faster than you can draw, aim, and fire a weapon. Standing still it"s easily doable, but at a run you"ll be lucky if they even drop, from even multiple shots, before reaching you. Try it some time, I think you"ll be surprised at the results.

All it takes is one swipe with a knife for a cop, or anyone else"s throat to get cut, or to be stabbed. The end result of either is that they are either dead, or seriously injured for no reason other than they hesitated a split second too long before shooting/stopping the threat. For that reason anyone with a weapon, of any type, and within that range, is considered a valid threat.

This, along with a lot of other good stuff, was all taught in our concealed carry class. I tell people now that even if they don"t plan to carry concealed, it"s good to take a class because the information learned is all good, and could ultimately save your life, and/or keep you out of jail for your actions doing so.

Maybe they meant to load up severaL thousand of the citizens of Ferguson and ship them over there. Maybe the Ukraine could figure out what to do with them.

Maybe Jesse an Al would go to Russia as well.

Black guy in Rochester killed a white cop the other day. I musta missed the riots. Or maybe there's no professional rabble rousers out there that make their money off stirring up the sheeple in the hood. Funny, those rabble rousers never, ever point out that if their sheeple would stop omitting crimes, they'd have a lot fewer run in with the po-leece.
