My phone got lost today. Iset it down to pay for my coffee this morning and left without it. Realised it by 10 miles and went back but it was already gone.

The folks at Verizon were great and helped me get a replacement right away in spite of their policy being to only mail replacements to your address. They even made it realatively painless.

The worst thing is all my contacts are gone since I didn"t save them mm properly. For all those here who gave seen me theirnumbers and want to do it again n my e-mail is open.

You don't realize how much you have wrapped up in your cell phone until you don't have it. Lost mine a couple years back. Was frantic. Fortunately, it reapeared. When I traded it in recently, got my son to download all my data to a computer and print off hard copy. Probably ought to do that again. About the only thing worse would be to loose your wallet!

Did you try calling the number and nicely asking the person to return it? (Just before you let them have it with both barrels.)

Yes, phone had magically turned itself off. Put a program on this phone that allows me to lock it and track it online if it's stolen. Didn't know such a thing was available. Also set it so all contacts and downloads are saved and can be reloaded to a new phone. Should save some hassle if it happens again. Of course now that I'm protected I'll never loose it again. Worst part is I lost all my funnies again. Lol. Hope I come across some soon.

They tried, but it wasn't put on the last phone properly so only a couple numbers transferred.

Lost mine at the public library they called social services and for fuel (it was winter) cops still couldnt figure out who did it .they said govt offices dont keep track off who calls them i,ll try and remember that on the next bomb threat.
Of course maybe it was do to the fact the one who took it was female

Yup, did the same thing this past Monday. I planted it somewhere that I have no clue. I walked where I thought it might be and then called but I never heard it ring or saw it. Needless to say, I will need a new one if I want to carry one. Bud

If you have an android I highly recommend that you store your contacts on google contacts. Android will automagically synchronize to google contacts so once you set it up you never have to think of it again, and if you lose your phone or simply get a new one, your contacts come right back. You can do the same for you photos at google photos - and the service is free. The level of storage is not unlimited, but I have over 500 photos stored and am not out of space yet.

I lost mine several years ago unloading beans at ADM in Decatur. I got another phone with that same #. I get a call on the new phone from my own #. Someone had found it and was calling me with it? They never answered as it must have been shut off?

If you still have an old phone in a drawer, you will have some of you contacts on it.

I dropped mine while mowing with the Bush Hog, noticed it was not in my pocket and started looking. Found it on the next circuit, must have been 100 pieces. The guys at Verizon could not retrieve my numbers. I have been rebuilding my address list. I like the idea of looking at my old phone. Good thinking. I will charge it up tomorrow.

Same deal with the iPhone. You can save/back up all your contacts (and other data) to the "cloud" (iCloud, for iOS). You can also sync all that stuff across all your iOS devices and it'll be available to any other device, changes/additions/deletions automatically sync across all devices. New phone? Just tell it who you are and all your stuff is just there. Just don't do this with those all pictures of yourself in the raw, as Jennifer Lawrence found out, lol...

LOST MINE ABOUT 6 YEARS AGO...Att tech support put us (my wife and me) with in 3 feet of it..was under a building where I had unloaded some feed...They said as long as the battery was in it and was charged they could tell me where it was at and they also turned it off so the battery would last longer...so what was wrong with Verizon
