Bluegrass. I grew up listening to country, but country died after that movie Urban Cowboy.
If I can't listen to bluegrass,I'd just as soon listen to classical, yea,Bach,Mozart, that kind of thing,as anything else. The neighbor woman's Dad was a truck driver and everybody just figured he listened to country all day. He said "No,classical. It's more soothing when I have to deal with traffic all day.".

As a child of the 60's, I grew up listening to Woodstock music and still do. I mix some bluegrass in and sometimes some classical. I don't understand opera and jazz so I stay away from it. Greatful Dead probably tops the list with some Seldom Scene mixed in sometimes.

Randy, have you ever went down to "Bluegrass Underground"?We been wanting to go,but since wifes accident she is afraid to try it.

I like country, from 1930's till late 70's. And like Randy said country died. Still like the old crooners ,Nate ,Perry , Tony, Frank, and big band stuff too. Late 50's rock, and a bit of bluegrass now and then. But please , NO heavy metal ,punk , pop, easy listing, or rap, or I might puke!!!

I like all kinds of music from opera and classical all the way up to...one and only one, rap song. But it doesn't count because it is really a classic rock song. I like country, will listen to some easy listening, but those who know me will rat me out and tell you I listen mostly to classic rock...big Floyd fan.

No,never even heard of it. The Wheatland Music Festival is coming up here in a few weeks. I'd like to get to Rosine one of these years for that big festival.
I drove 450 miles one way a few years back to see Allison Krauss and Union Station.

Celtic Women. Now you're talking music. We've seen them in person twice. Only show I've ever been to that made me totally forget everything in the world existed except what was going on right there on stage. The whole world outside could have been destroyed while I was there and I wouldn't have known or cared. Unbelievable!

My favorite members of the group have left. Alex Sharpe and Lisa Kelly. The current members are very good also. It is very relaxing music.
At night I sit in my recliner with my laptop viewing ytmag and listening to Celtic Woman and pedal steel.

Mainly 60's, 70's, and 80's rock. I can handle SOME country music - as long as it doesn't have those three drunk cats in it. I also like Celtic and classical.

Enjoy a lot of different music, but my favorite is always fiddles. Made this fiddle (first attempt)last spring.

Polka Music!!

Preferably what is referred to here in Nebraska is the "Bohemian Alps" sound. Basically an accordion or two, drums, and a tuba.

going way back listened to big band stuff on the barn radio, what pop had on, said it made the cows mellow and made them milk good. thinking back I'm sure he was BS ing me, but I bit. then early rock through the 60's, then country, now I'm sick of it all, heard every thing soooo many times. Got going on Zydeco and Cajun about a year ago and still finding new stuff. Get on u-tube and give it a listen.

I used to listen to a lot of country in my younger days, but now I listen to more of the 'classic rock' ranging from the 60's to the real early 90's. I also like some of the newer stuff, both country and rock, but not enough to turn it on in the shop when I'm working.

Progressive, aggressive Christian rock! Like Red, Demon Hunter, Skillet, Random Hero etc! Going to a 3 day outdoor music festival near Sioux Falls next weekend to see the like!

Mostly now it's contemporary Christian.

But I occasional enjoy reliving my wasted youth with some Willie, Waylon, Haggard, Ray Wiley Hubbard, J.J. Walker (early), ZZ Top (early), Rusty Wier, Shaver, Guy Clark, Kris Kristoferson, too many to list! Anything Texas outlaw.

southern country rock ,,old country western ,Floyd cramer , Nashville brass / herb alpert / Jessica allman brothers/ niel diamond

Real punk, ska, outlaw country, classic country, some modern country, blue grass, even some old school rap a'la Sugar Hill Gang.

I like most any music from classical to Willie Nelson except hard rock and metal. I am listening to Vaughn Monroe on You Tube while I surf Yesterdays Tractors.

I like some of everything from classical to bluegrass. I like classic country and 40s, 50s, 60s pop. A special favorite is southern gospel. I don't care for any kind of music that REQUIRES electricity to produce. That takes in rock, modern country, rap, etc.

Look it up,it is in the caverns at McMinnville Tn..300 Ft.underground, they have one show a month and have some big and small names at all the shows.PBS has run some specials on it a few times.

Anything, just as long as it's not grunge, punk rock, rap, hiphop. All that is just crap to me. Just stupid terrible, horrific noise with no content. I do lean more towards the big band era.

Best regards

I copied my Pandora playlist. Figured you guys would get a kick out of it. I listen to EVERYTHING!!! I change it to a different station each day. I found it funny that Nine Inch Nails is right next to George Jones.

FWIW, I am 44, graduated in 1987. Not a lot of great music that year.

Anything and everything...

Old Time Polkas (In Heaven There is No Beer)

Country (Statler Brothers era stuff to current day singers)

Mellow Rock Oldies

Classic Rock (AC/DC, Molly Hatchet,Stones, Eagles... the list is endless)

Reggae

Bluegrass

Classical... but not a lot

(quoted from post at 23:53:40 08/22/14) what kind of music does everyone like. just curious. mine is oldtime banjo music

Mostly hard rock...older hard rock. Black Sabbath,Judas Priest,etc... I've met Sabbath and they are a great group of guys btw...I also listen to country if it was before 1983 or so...I prefer stuff along the lines Hank Williams Jr,David Allen Coe,etc...and believe it or not I like to listen to Goose Creek Symphony and Fats Domino! How's that for a mix?...lol

Blues--- rock 'n' roll , country , classic country, jump blues, bluegrass, any great guitar players. Can't stand classical. Dislike jazz , although there is a point where blues meet jazz that is good. Blues are the roots , all others are the fruits. A very sweet voice like Allison Kraus makes me turn into a psycho killer as nice as it is .

As a bit of a pedal steel guitar player myself, anything with pedal steel...primarily classic country, Gene Watson, Vince Gill, Vern Gosdin and the like. Those old church hymns ain't bad either, especially with a little steel in the mix.

Lester Flatt, Earl Scruggs & The Foggy Mountain Boys

Goodness gracious, it's good!

What they now call "classic rock" Zeppelin, Aerosmith, Rush, etc. What can I say, I'm a child of the late 60s/early 70s.

I like "classic country", Eddy Arnold, Ernest Tubb, etc. I was around when George Jones and Buck Owens were opening acts for the stars. Then mid-fifties, Rock-N-Roll happened, I like that through mid sixties. As time passes I have come to like some Classical, Jazz, etc. Still can't figure Opera, though.
