home made or aftermarket farmall add ons

I know from my days of playing with N Ford tractors that some guys made some great add on features now that I'm working on a Farmall H I was wondering if anyone had links or made and sold parts out of the home shop to make upgrades to the Farmall.

Don't know if they were made in someones home shop, or a small manufacturing business. But one item would be the oil dipstick that replaced the top petcock in the oil pan. I have one that was manufactured by "Heiken" of Atlantic, Iowa.

Another popular add-on was the gizmo that allowed you to set the brakes without struggling to reach the little lever that is already under your foot. Several different makers of those things. Each of them just a little different.

I saw once where someone welded a short piece of chain to the parking brake pawl, then looped the other end over the Christmas tree. For a large, economy sized guy like myself, it sure would make it easier to set the brake.

My brakes on my M set with a little lever you step on under the clutch pedal. A rod goes across the top of the platform and hooks under the parking pawl. All you have to do is step on the brakes and step on that lever with your left foot.

One that I'd like to find(or make this winter) is the lever that attaches to the steering post to operate the starter switch that's buried on the early H's, my size 13 won't fit behind the steering post.

Paul, an even better set-up is the steering post mounted starter button like found on the later Hs.
