Need Help With 2n Starting System...

Hi all, well I put my 2n back together, the fair starts Sunday!!

I pushed the starter button, and nothing happened, dad said that it was FOR SURE the front button, where it pushes the two connectors together, so I ordered one, and it got here today. I put it on and it still didn't do anything.

I took it back off, but left the cables hooked to it, and when I pushed the button, it worked just fine.

Sooo, I guess this means that it has to be the actual button right in front of the gear shifter, or something inside??

What could be wrong? It worked just fine before I took it apart, soooo, what? I see that the new piece I got has a gasket with it, does that piece need to ground in order for it to work?

Any help would be really appreciated... The tractor starts easily enough that I can just reach under and tap the two cables together, and it pops right off, but I NEED to get it fixed!!! What should I do!?!?! Bryce

The replacement starter switches have a slight indent on the button end where the rod makes contact and the original had a slight protrusion there that made it long enough for the rod to engage it. Try adding something to the end of the button so the rod can push it far enough to work. I have spoken with Tisco and they said they were getting them corrected but I haven't seen one yet that is correct.
