Anyone on here that is a genius on these? Got a Polun w/new coil, plug, fuel, good mag.on flywheel, good compression, good spark, wont start even with the starting fluid.

Thanks

No expert here, but I have a Poulan leaf blower and the same thing happened, it was the oring behind the carb.

I would not use starting fluid on a 2-stroke, it has no lubricant! Have you tried a few drops of good mixed gas in the throat of the carburetor? That if my first troubleshooting technique.

If I get a 2 cycle in the shop that has 'good' everything and won't start, I pull the flywheel to see if the key has sheared. If its not putting plenty of air through the muffler, I take it off and clean the muffler and exhaust port.

p.s. If your Weedeater won't do 120 psi compression, It probably won't run right.

Also check the seal behind the flywheel and behind the clutch. Mine behind the flywheel had moved our not letting the piston pull any fuel into the crankcase.

try putting a little fuel in the spark plug hole.

Lots of good suggestions here, As stated, if the muffler comes apart, there may be a spark arrestor screen inside that is stopped up, it can either be replaced, or heat it read hot with a torch and burn the residue off and brush it off. Or maybe a mud dauber has built in the muffler and it is just stopped up. I have had that happen. Another thought, I believe there is a gasket between the cylinder and the crankcase, it could be leaking air there, I have also seen that happen. Make sure that the nuts that hold the cylinder to the crankcase are tight. Worse scenario would be having to take the thing apart to visually check.
