I want to know what should a set of male/female twist lock plugs cost? 50 amp, 4 prong, NEMA type. This would be used for home gen set.

Mcmaster wants $90 for the male and $100 for the female. it seems it should be way less than that.

Good ones, such as Hubbel, are expensive. I cringe every time I have to buy one or more. Beware of the cheap import ones..

Used ones go fairly cheap, it there are any machinery dealers/scrappers near.

Just a guess on my part, but probably volume related. How many millions of ordinary 120V cord connectors are made each year, compared to how many 4P-240V-3Ph. cord connectors. Cost of molds, stamping dies, assembly tooling, etc. has to be spread over a few thousand instead of millions.

Any old up right silos around you??? The cord to the unloader usually had the plug your talking about in it.

Twist loks cost $$$$.

Since you are looking for both halves, how about using a NON locking 4-prong plug/receptacle?

Or are you worried the Nissen will trip over the cord and unplug it during a power outage?
