Need a powerful mosquito repellent

My nephew is surveying for his job in what best could be described as a swamp. The mosquitoes laugh at Deep Woods off. They literally cover his hands when he stops to write notes even with the spray slathered on. A cloud of them swarm his face. Is there something better?

I used to go to Boy Scout camp with a guy that claimed eating a ton of garlic worked on mosquitos. The smell of garlic would go through his skin. No one would get close enough to him to know if it worked. I've always had better look with OFF than Deep Woods.

Call your local Shackly dealer and get some basic H add to water then put in small spray bottle and sray when and where needed this stuff really works one hundred percent. Mosquitoes hate it.

I read somewhere that catnip was 10 times stronger than deet as a mosquito repellent, but you had to watch out for the cats.

One thing that I do in addition to the deep woods off is spray my workboots with Raid bug killer, bottoms of my pant legs too. I have read on here I think that medicine flavored Listerine works on keeping bugs off of you.

Don't know if you can still but it, but about 15 years ago I found some 100% DEET.

It was in a small plastic squeeze bottle, found it at Walmart.

That stuff worked! But it would melt plastic! Had it on my hands, went to use my phone, got through it was melted to my hand! LOL

I heard, mist yourself with listerne mouthwash. If sitting out at night or camping mist the ground around - I have not tried it though. He sounds like the perfect testing ground for all the suggestions.

Get your wife to let him have some of her Avon Skin so Soft. Combination of it and Deep Woods Off, work great. We even use Skin So soft on the horses.

100 percent DEET makes my skin tinkle for hours after I wash it off and I get too nervous when I use it. In heavy mosquitoes, I will wear a mosquito mesh head cover over a cap and if necessary, a mosquito mesh jacket.

A friend told me of standing night guard duty many years ago on Grand Forks AFB in North Dakota. He had to wipe the mosquitoes off his mesh "diving bell" to see, and all he could hear was buzzing.

I have mosquito bites on my mosquito bites.
Haying this year they are everywhere and thick.
Have some bug repellant called Crock Guard it is something like 44% deet and only fends off the small ones.
Puffing on a cigarette seems to be the only thing that keeps them away.
I still have a bottle of the 90% deet in the shop somewhere but it's hard to say which is worse for you.

catnip works. go to walmart and look in the pets supply and get the little green bottle that is catnip to blow bubbles for cats. Rub it on your skin and it works.

Their website says basic H is a skin irritant and is NOT legal to use as an insect repellant. I'll stick with Deep Woods (Deet). I spray it on before I go into the woods or fields. Haven't had a single mosquito bite or tick land on me this year.

I tried the Listerine mouthwash last summer and again this summer. No good. It didn't seem to be worse, like an attractant. But it sure didn't do any good at keeping them away. Deep Woods Off works decent for me.

Silly as it seems a dryer sheet is the best. One in each pocket and one in your hat band. Used ones work OK too. We put one on the bottom of the outside doors to keep the stink bugs out of the house.
