Trans Fluid for Massey 135 / Industrial MF 20

Neighbor got a "new" MF 20. Shift boot is bad and trans has milky oil. What do these use and how much? Have to get a manual but don't have one yet. Thanks, LB

Takes 32 quarts.

Lots of opinions on the oil, 90w mineral oil, 10-40 or 15-40 engine oil, RO68 hydraulic oil, Tractor Supply universal old tractor oil. Any will work, chose your preference. Just don't go with heavier oil, slows down the lift in cold weather.

Not completely sure about your model, but the older ones also had a boot behind the upper 3 point link, under the seat, they would also rot away and leak water into the gear case.

One more tip, when pouring the oil in, go slow! If the front seal is leaking, too much oil too fast will run out into the clutch. It fills the transmission faster than it can drain back into the rest of the case.

my mf 20 operators manual states
trans diff & hyd system 8 us gals(32qts)-6.7 imp gal
power steering sys 1 us qt - 0.8 imp qt

use oil conforming to mf specifications m-1129A

so from that you use the same fluid in both the trans and the power steering
in using trans hyd fluid in the power steering for 7 yrs now with no issue mf dealer told thats what they use
so it should be the same for the trans rear hyd comdo as well

Thanks. I'll loan my bucket pump which takes about 5 minutes to pump in a bucket so that should be slow enough.
