What is it worth farmall 400 ( Thank you )

I first would like to say thank you to all of you who took the time to replay to me on this one. What is this farmall 400 is worth. The person who was trying to give me a punch of a over price on his tractor (asking 2000.00 VS 700.00) I went to see him and set a price on it at 650.00. He replied to me I thought you wanted it to restore it. Say what I thought: why should I pay more for it if it is not worth it. I gave him my price as I looked at him and replied(I have penty of projects in my back yard already). Thank you yesterday tractor discussion for being my support line to what I need to know. Thanks Brent

If the wide front is in good condition the $650 may or may not get just the wide front bought in some areas. Don't know if that's one of the high torque starters pullers use on the tractor, if so there not cheep. If you can buy it close to you for $650 that's a good deal. I wouldn't sell it for $650.

You didn't provide the location of said object.
The where-a-bouts is a big factor in the general interest of a particular item.

It will probably generate more interest in Memphis, Tennessee, than it will in Memphis, Egypt.
And, yes' there is really a town in Tennessee called Bucksnort.

I wouldn't say that was a $650 tractor around here. Put it on a consignment sale and it's a pretty safe bet it would bring 12-1500 anyway, maybe more if the crowd is right.

Vhy go all the way to Tenn. when you could visit the junk yard in Gnaw Bone, Indiana and then off to Nashville, Ind.?

I have to get to Kentucky and Tennessee at least once a year to recharge my batteries. Anywhere else and I don't feel like I've had a vacation.

I saw a couple of non running Oliver Super 77 and 88s on a farm sale in the middle of June,as rough as I've ever seen them, brought 17-1800. Olivers aren't the only thing collectors buy. For some reason guys collect those red things too. lol

I bought a non running narrow front 300 with bad tires for $1000. I was prepared to go up to $1100 on it. It needed some work but with help from D Slater and others it is now my main tractor. I sold an old H wide front for $500 last year, it was not really pretty and did not include rims and tires. I would not think most people would sell the 400 in the photo for any less than $1000 and that would be a good deal to me.

My brother just bought a 400 that looked a lot like that only RUNNING and with the seat for $1150 and with the correct air breather. Has a good working TA and three hydraulic outlets but no fast hitch.

That was a pretty good deal but the owner had advertised it several times on CL for $1400 without a single person ever coming to look at it in person. My brother only bought it because he knew the old man selling it and knew the tractor had never been worked hard in its life.

I really have to admit but I just could not spend the 2000.00 dollors on a tractor that needed to be restored. You see I have a John Deere 1956 70 diesel, single tire in front and I am in process of restorartion work. I fell that this projects means more to me than the farmall 400. Most people tell me that the JD is quiet the machine to have. I am starting to belive them.
