Posted a while back on tying problem on an old NH super 68 baler. Took the twine fingers off and they had a groove wore in them, the right one worse than the left and that is the side that would mistie. Ground out and polished them up. I had an article I cut out of a farm magazine years ago about tying problems, and it showed my exact problem, string tore off or almost off behind the knot and said was too little clearance between the bill hook and the knife arm, compared it to the good side and I could see the difference, so did some bending on that arm till I was happy with the way it looked. On Tuesday I was baling with the other baler and my Son said should I bring er out and give er a try, I said sure we have a little time to mess with it, she popped out 250 nice tight bales and never missed a one right from the empty chamber and even changed both twine balls. thanks for your comments and encouragement, I was about ready to back it in the woods and pull the pin.
