Buddy has a 4010 with a rebuild injector pump. Noticed one of the "lines" that go from pump to injector was seeping so he tightened the bolt on the side at the pump.. still seeped so tightened somemore when something snapped inside and no go no more.. Question is can that bolt make contact with something inside and cause the pump not able to be rebuild?? Would I assume it was tightened to tight and hit the "cam" inside?? inform me please... thanks

Sounds like the line bolt bottomed out, causing the barrel to seize on the rotor, locking it and breaking the shaft. Usually happens when there is only one banjo gasket instead of two on the line.

Once the shaft is damaged the pump is not considered rebuildable? correct? Most places on line require the core but it needs to be rebuildable.. he is trying to figure out if his is considered "rebuildable core".. thanks for your help
