radiator water

years ago tap water was used. Then we figgured out that distilled water didnt cause clogged radiators. My question is can I use dehumidifier water? Isnt it the same as distilled??
Saves me buying the stuff.
Thanks for answers to my dumb questions.

I just had a radiator repaired and I asked the old guy about the distilled water and he said that tap water is fine. He said to use a water pump lube in it and it will have the rust inhibiters in it.

Dehumidified water will not have the dissolved lime and other minerals that are in ground/well water. Distilled water only costs 50 cents to a dollar a gallon, and the container is clean.

I have never used tap water or well water in a cooling system. Rain water is my choice. Ground water here is loaded with minerals and will clog up a cooling system pretty soon I would think.

Yeah it is fine for the guy who repairs radiators. The minerals in most tap water build up inside the tubes in the radiator and eventually block it off enough that replacement or repair is needed.
Rust is not the issue. no difference in rust issues whether using distilled or tap water.

On the dehumidifier water. Just filter it well because various other particles in the air get into it.

The same old guy probably smoked for 50 years and it never hurt him ether.
Well water varies in the amount of dissolved minerals.

See, thats why I ask. One of you may know something but here I get a welth of knowledge.
Didnt think about bacteria, gee now I can have it in the radiator as well as the fuel tank!!!
Thanks all.
