Whew !!!
mapquest said that Lodi was 2.5 hours away, it took 20 hours to make 2 trips to pick the stuff up and return the rental trailer. didn't get home till 4:00 am,we slept most of yesterday.

Did you go through, or past, Visalia? That's a nice town. My wife had an uncle who lived there.

We visited him once, and slept through a 4.0 earth quake.

That area must be heavily irrigated. California is going through the worst drought in 100 yrs.

Pretty country, but a little too flat for me. I like the hills and trees of east Tx.

I wasn't expecting it to be that flat in a valley.
Always interesting to see photos of other areas.

Would love to be able to drive out to a citrus or
peach orchard and buy some fresh off the tree. (Only
apple orchards around here.)

Thanks for sharin the photos Jennifer.
Spent some tome exploring areas of the central vally including Napa wine country. For a Midwest country boy, agriculture is a lot different there that it is from where I come from.

About every summer in the 50's during the hottest month, Dad, Mom, and us three kids, would take the 350 mile trip up the valley. to visit his dad in chowchilla ca. I can remember just about all the way up cotton was growing. Now mostly fruit trees. Stan

Nce pics. CA has some nice farmland, all it needs
is water! Looks like the trees have drip
irrigation. That's what they used in the Napa
Valley vinyard we toured. Don't recognize the
trees.

Sweet feet, we have peach orchards in SC, just not
as many as in the past. No comparision between a
peach off the tree and one shipped in. I like the
just before they get too ripe.

KEH

very nice pictures,I have never been anywheres near there,,,,thanks,,,, just another great thing about this site, you get to travel without traveling!

hi, no, Visalia is to the south east of us and Lodi is to the north east.

yea, it's nice to go up and pick an orange off a tree and eat it, when i lived in the bay area there was always a neighbor that had an orange tree and would give them away for free. on our way some of the trees we saw were peach, apricot , almond, walnut, orange, and we saw a sign for cherries, but not the trees. locally we see a lot of cherry, almond, apricot, english walnut, pistachio, apple, pomegranate (yuck), and im sure im forgetting a few. we live next to what that they call "america's salad bowl" where we see a lot of strawberries and raspberries and every kind of lettuce there is. (note to self) gotta take some pics some time. :)
