Cat loves Rabbit

Less cats around here and more rabbits.Have not seen this many in 15 years.Fence keeps them out of my garden so not a problem.Rather have rabbits than cats.Never seen a rabbit kill birds.

The one critter, that does not bother my gardens, white clover and dandelion, are so plentiful on the lawn, no need for anything else. They are numerous and I see them lounging, laying on their sides quite often, many are not afraid of you, when young are present, I have almost stepped on them, no shortage of fox or coyote, hawk, owls around here either. I had to move one young one to keep it from getting hit by the mower, held him in my hand awhile, he got enough courage to scamper off, right under the steps and through a small open area I never closed off, he moved right into my thickly planted and fenced in garden, knew every little path, enjoyed some lettuce, just a small quantity, it was hard to finally run him off and he did leave. You could live off the wild game around here, literally when I think about all of it. They don't try to get under the fence at all, more than enough on the lawn. Woodchucks and deer are the real enemies of my gardens.

I hate cats running loose. They kill rabbits and birds and I'd rather let the fox take care of the field mice. Lots of time the cats don't even eat their prey, just play with it. our cat stays in the house and will be heading to Oklahoma with our daughter next week.

Yep nothing worse for birds and other wildlife than a cat.Thats about the only good thing that happened when the coyotes moved in was they cleaned up the all the cats.

We're seeing a lot more rabbits around here too (central mass.)

Despite the efforts of our cat.

He only catches the cute ones - the little baby bunnies that squeak. Then he leaves them half alive at our door. I guess just so my daughter can learn the hard lesson that you can't save them no matter how hard you try.

I'd rather not have cats. But these are our old neighbors barn cats that decided they wanted to live with us when the barn got torn down to make way for more houses...

I didn't realize there are so many cat lovers here.

I also forgot to mention, the cat loves mice and keeps the snakes away.

She finished off all her supper. Total of 3 bunnies so far.

Our cat works for her food, that's more than I can say about some humans.
