Rick Been selling KUBOTAS for years and I really shy away when a guy wants a mid mounted deck on a loader tractor. Not a good combination. More than likely the reason the guy got rid of it. With that loader mount there is just not room for the deck to raise to hi. Get you book and make sure the front draw rods are adjusted tight and take up on the rods that go back to the rear lift but you will still not get the deck to clear a beer can. About 4.5 inches is max.

Your finding out the joy of a mower deck on a compact tractor. They keep the tractor low so it is easier to get on and off of. Plus they try to keep the center of gravity low.

So you have wide mower deck that has to have some depth to it for grass handling capacity. Then you stick that under the low tractor. The result is a deck that does not lift very high off the ground.

I would bet that you have a 5 or 6 foot deck. You are finding out your yard is not as flat as your thought it was. So the deck ends up holding the tractor up off the wheels. Resulting in you being stuck.

Here is something to think about. They sell the small compacts as a loader and mowing tractor. I have found they really don't do either real well. A skid steer will out load them and a commercial mower will out mow them. Kind of do everything mediocre but nothing well.

This is not a knock on Kubota. JD, NH or any of the other compacts all have the same issue.

I always thought it is better to get two machines that do the job well over one that does not do them as well.

Well said, as I said below I always knew when I sold one with the loader and deck they would be back whining. Compacts were not too bad then KUBOTA got smart and cam with the BX series of subcompacts. Not many problems with them getting stuck as they are 4 wheel drive but with the loader they would get down in the ditch and load gravel or mulch, bend the mower mounts then be back crying about the mower not mowing level. Just like you said hard to have your cake and eat it too... LOL

When I went shopping for a mower after I bought a small acreage, liked the idea of having a loader too, so bought a Kubota BX2360. It mows good, don't have a golf course type lawn and the loader is handy as anything I've ever owned. I have found it better to remove the mower when using the loader and vice versa. As I get older and it gets harder to change attachments, I'll get single purpose equipment.

I was warned off of getting a mid mount when I was looking for a sub compact tractor, by a dealer no less. I was advised to get a 3pt instead. Found a brand new Italian made 5 ft. one at a farm consignment auction for $600. It was a good way to go since I'm just mowing pastures with it, drop it when I'm done and have my ground clearance.
