What a haying year from hell.. Usually start haying up in NE Wisconsin in Forest County Around June 15th.. the last month has been hell. Rain and more rain, gloomy clody days with no wind, humit days with clouds and no sun etc etc.. Only got one field in without some type of rain. The best window was last week in june into the 4th weekend.. Had a 5 day window without showers or storms magically appearing in a nice 5 day dry forcasted haying window. Sometimes i wonder if meteorologists are any better with all the technology then the ones in the 40's & 50's with paper maps?

Forgot to mention more 1st crop hay standing yet then i have saw for the middle of july since i started farming 40 years ago.. Just cant win.. Cheers to a good 2015 haying season

ya got 20 4x6 round bales made without rain on thursday was going to cut hay today weather (liars) said 10 percent chance of rain got 3 inches of rain NW Wisconsin a month behind right now

We're doing alright considering. We've got around 2800 bales in the mow right now, and while some was rained on pretty good, most of it either has no rain or was trained on the day after cutting. We even baked some yesterday that was only on the ground for 2 days and didn't have to rake it. Finished that hay today and for now we don't have any more laid down. Finally got a9' bagger so we can fill a bag now next weekend.

I'm glad we don't have the hay we used to raise. Only about 22 cares this year. About half done with it. No rain on any of it yet. The last of it is going to take longer to dry. Heavy Alfalfa with some big weeds. Daisies and such.
Worst part is wheat is just right around the corner. Probably have to cut it when it dries out this time. So hay and wheat both going on. Looking for a wet fall like in about 1970. Mud from Sept to Jan when it froze up.

Same here in Mn. Total year from heck, really hurting the farmers around here, including me and Son in Law, going to be a non profit organization this year!!

In between Wausau and Eau Claire. Got all our first crop in with only a small portion getting rained on. Stated cutting a patch and after 4 rounds fear got the better of me so I stopped.
Waited a couple days and cut the rest. Got it all baled up last weekend.
Lots of fields with some pretty old looking stuff still standing as I drive around.
Second crop alfalfa is looking pretty good where the first crop got off.
