Was home in the office. Bell rings. Lady hit the mail box. Office window faces road that mail box is on. Didn't see it or hear it, but she caught it good. My guess, will be new hood, corner panel, head light assembly, and possible grill. Oh, and this is on a mailbox that will flip up and around.

Got a surprise a couple years ago. Coming home from town saw a strange vehicle on the road & my mailbox lying on the ground. Nobody in driver seat, lady in shotgun seat had a sheepish grin. Thought the driver had walked up to house to report.
Wrong! Lady in shotgun seat was our friendly mail carrier, first day with newer car. Said she opened door to put mail in & it just fell over.
New post time. It is one of those green plastic jobs that slips over a 4x4 post. Seems that the previous occupant had set a single 2x4 in concrete & it had rotted off at ground level. Dug in a treated 4x4 beside the concrete. Put a "Fragile" note on the door next day. She got the humor, left a note with a "smiley face" for me.

They don't get to close to mine the county dug a 3 ft. deep ditch close to my mailbox so if you get to close to it you going to be in real trouble.

I had a half dozen mailboxes busted by kids wrecking them. I solved the problem......A PO box in town. I go there 3 times a week.

your lucky she didnt ask for your home owners insurance to pay for her car. Some states have the law written that way. Especially if its not just a standard box. be happy its just 50 bucks.
