rrlund i need your advice

Run. Run away. Run far,run fast.
I think a 65 would be a 4 cylinder. Those were an Italian military surplus engine. No parts are available anywhere in the world.
The only way you should drag it home is if you can scrap it for more than they're asking.

ok, thank you for the advice. :) I'll find one, some... day... i hope everything's going good your way, what with the unexpected new tire and all.

With manuals, three good tires, (he says), and wheel weights, if scrap prices in Cal. are anything like they have been here as of late, it would almost be worth the trouble to dismantle and scrap it. (Disclaimer: I am not advising anyone to do so, just me thinking.)
You learn something new every day! I had no idea any tractor used an engine such as you describe. It sure would be a bummer to end up with something like that.

You're right the diesels were the same engine as the later 3 cylinders and from where I'm looking I see around a thousand$ in parts. It'd be on my trailer if it weren't 3000 miles away.

Yup,you're right about that, but they were still hard on head gaskets and parts are hard to find for the straight 1250,unlike the 1250A which might be a little easier.

thanks everyone, im gonna pass on this one, i want to get a tractor that's fun to fix up, not a nightmare to find parts for. oh well, i'll find one, some... day...
