Round Baler Advice

I will need a round baler someday, and got a few questions.

Are there round balers that would work with an Oliver 1755? If so what are they, and if there are a bunch of them what do I need to add to my 1755 to make it happen?

Thanks in advance for your help.

I've ran a Case/IH 8430 4x4 with my 1755, and just bought a Hesston 740 4x4. Both work great, take no power to run, and only need 1 remote. Both have electric tie, hydraulic or net wrap would be nice.. But I'm not big time

I used to bale with a New Holland 851, that was worn out. Baled behind an 1850. Only problem I had, was it only had 34 inch rubber, and I had trouble dragging on the windrow. I was making 5X6+ bales. Wasn't uncommon to have a 1800 pound grass bale.

8430's and Heston 530, 5530, are pretty close to the same baler, It also has a new idea badge and number, really a popular small baler. The Hesston 740, also has a number in IH, don't know what it is, though. The Hesston and IH round baler line had to be separated when Case merged with IH, and Agco merged with Hesston, not sure if I have the right mergers listed, but you get the drift...

New Holland 845 is what I have used for about 20 years. Don't make the nicest bale but the cows eat it anyway. 5x5 bale, only about 650#, simple baler and will bale anything...

I had to put the 1850 on the baler today. Luckily I'd had enough brain cells a month ago to put the extra wiring harness and monitor on it so all I had to do was hook on and go. But it's going to depend on the baler. If you get one with a hydraulic twine arm, you're set the way it is. You have dual remotes. If you get one with an electric twine arm,you just have to put the harness and controls on it.
One thing I found out today though,if I was going to bale with it for very long,I'd take the sway blocks off. The windrows are huge and they hang down too low. They were dragging the hay and bunching it up.

Almost any round baler that doesn't require more HP than you produce will work. If they have a monitor they run on 12 volt. All you have to do is mount it and tie into the electrics of the tractor. Same with electric tie. Other than that most have 1 hydraulic unless they are hydraulic tie and hook up to the PTO.

The owners manual for my CaseIH 3650 says 70HP or more. I believe that because you can hear the tractor grunting right before the alarm goes off.

I run a Vermeer 504G with the 1650 most of the time, about the perfect match. Today I had the 1850 on it and the tractor handled it easily, almost too easy.

We ran a Vermeer 605F with a 2-70 White. Could run 5th gear direct baling straw. Plenty of power and hydraulics for any conditions we had.

Thanks for the response.

So in addition to the cost of a baler, what other expenses would I be looking at to make a JD 457 work on my 1755? Or do those things come with the baler?

Thanks again.

Monitor and wiring from it to the baler are part of the baler and like the PTO shaft should come with it.
