hi was wondering if my ih b2500 with shuttle shift frontloader takes a special transmission fluid or hydraulic fluid it is low and i need to put some in it .

Now I think you are talking about an IH2500B? it is the industrial version of the 574? I also have a 2500B with the reverser. Case/IH Hytran fluid is the best. If you can not get that a good premium universal tractor fluid that meats the Hytran spec will work.
You can also overfill the tractor by up to 5 Gal. I do that to mine.

Tough little tractors.

now for a really dumb question .how do i fill it ?
at the dip stick ?

At the rear of the tractor, on top of the 3Pt hitch, just behind the drivers seat is a plug. That is the fill plug. If you have the ROPS on the tractor you will need a long funnel, as the rear bar of the ROPS makes it tough to pour into the opening without a good long funnel.
