neat little thing

Yep, there was one for sale locally. We couldn't agree on $. Old commericals with Arnold Palmer driving one of those.

Actually - the "Arnold Palmer Pennzoil tractor" was not a Toro! It looks SIMILAR to one, but was a "home-built" (by his father).

Very neat, although, agree the dollars are way too high. I would rather find one currently being used for half that price....

I never thought I would see one of those things again. Dad was given one of those things to scrap out from a local golf coarse. I got it running, and drove it all over the hills behind our farm back in the 60's. We called it El Torro. It finally made it to the scrap pile. Stan

So its all in nice shape and he is asking 4500 dollars, which seems like a lot to me, why in the heck wouldnt you just get a new battery and include it in the deal ?

I have one just like sitting out by my shop that someone can have for about a third of that if they want to come drag on a trailer. For a little more I'll get it running again and drive it on their trailer

Made with surplus WW II engines. Sister tractor was the Bullit without a dump box. They will do about 40 MPH! My dad sold the last Bullit made in 1959 to a local golf course. Interestingly enough, In the early 90's he sold the same golf course the last Toro Parkmaster made.

I had one years ago, It had a Ford flathead 6 and a 4-speed with a planetary reduction behind it. We used it to rake hay and spot trailers on the farm. It would go about 35 mph, and that got interesting with one band brake on the driveshaft and no suspension, or windshield. Mine didn't have the dump box, but it had mounts for reel mowers on the sides and a hydraulic system to lift them. The University of Maryland Eastern Shore used it for years to cut grass.
