Simple answer? Yes I yell at her. Bad part is she's 5'3" and I'm 6'5". And I leave the seat up too.

I've always wondered why men have to put the toilet seat down, why don't the women put the seat up when they are done using it?

Got into that discussion one time , Ex was a very abundant woman.. complained one time .. Said "everytime I go in there that toilet seat is up!! "... I said equal rights remember ? every time I go in there its down.

My wife used to complain until she found that never change my ways for anyone or reason. Well I'm getting old if I up before her I leave the seat down and cover up as she is usually on the run.

Better half and I always need to adjust seat and mirror.......and neither would know where to reset to for the other. I can"t see that being an issue. re toilet seat- no, never been yelled at, but of our 3 boys..(adults)...there is one that we know when he"s been in the house!

My wife drives her own truck and i drive mine.
On the toilet seat i tell her to put it up unless she wants to clean it every time she wants to use it.( i been known to miss the hole on occasion :D )

SWMBO drives the brown car, I drive the white one & the red truck, so mirrors & seat not a problem.
As far as the procelein throne is concerned, about 40 yrs ago I started also closing the lid to keep "kitty cat" from drowning, and still do. Have been with current SWMBO 12 yrs now, she also closes the lid.

I kept my contact lens solution (and other stuff) in the cabinet over the toilet. I left the lid down so I wouldn't drop anything in.

I put the lid down after using, that way the cat will not fall in and drown while jumping around in the bathroom.

A friend of mine who has since passed on had a small sign on the wall by the toilet that said; The proper position for "this" toilet seat is up. It was placed just above the TP holder.
I generally leave the seat where I found it.

I see it as being less and less of an issue as more young men are not bothering to pick it up.

Put it down guys they are already at a disadvantage for just having to sit down. They do get to rest though

I live alone and still always put the toilet seat down and the lid down when I am done with my duties. Part of it is for the cats and part because the lid is there for a reason.

I also put the cap back on the fuel tank on the tractor even though I know that I will be putting fuel in there again.

I put the cap on the toothpaste and that happens twice a day.

I also close the door on the freezer and refrigerator though I do have a regular ice cream or popsicle and the occasional beer.

I guess it is part of my view of "finishing the job"

I know a guy found and installed a real authentic stand-up tall urinal, rests on the floor, stand up about 5". He"s real poroud of it. Solves every problem.

My wife uses the toilet off the bedroom. I use the one by the utility room.

I put the ring down all the time. I may not put down the lid.

I usually do not turn on the lights if I go in the middle of the night. There is enough light coming in from the outdoor lights to see.

One night after a family gathering I went in sat down and damn near got stuck in the toilet.

No complaining I just make sure the ring is down now after the kids have been here.

I've always said that women don't look when they back up, that's why we are better drivers. If they did look, they wouldn't yell at us for leaving the seat up.

Have you ever noticed how low the toilet is if you sit down with the ring up. I've did that several times in the night without the lights on and it feels like you drop a foot.

The age old question...

In my house the two toilets are always "closed". There are no animals in the house anymore, but we started this years ago when we had a pretty large dog that stayed in the house. She had the habit of getting a drink and then coming into wherever we were and giving us a big sloppy "kiss". Never could break her of the the sloppy kisses but we could control where she got the ammunition.

I always put the seat down as a courtesy. I did, one time many years ago get a touch of the flu. Woke up in the middle of the night and had to hurry. Didn't turn on any lights (I know where everything is), and some dang fool had left the seat up. (I was the only man in the house) I didn't like the experience, and have made sure every since that I put the seat down.

The seat stays down except when in use and the lid also. I don't understand why everybody that leaves the seat up wants a big plummers bill when using common sence putting lid down will save that. Always afraid if have to use away from home that does not have a lid my billfold will be drowning. Don't want to pull it out and clean it up.

Well I believe in equal rights for both men and women. I lift it up, she puts it down. 50/50 equal. On a side note, dr oz did say to flush the toilet with the lid down to keep bacteria/germs from getting out in the air with all the flushing pressure.

I'm single again, so I don't worry about what she wants. However, my hound dog prefers if I leave it up. Makes it easier for him to get a drink.

its a choise of if you want to comply, or listen to it, me, i drop the toilet seat, and readjust my pickups and all is quiet

I have a wife and 3 daughters.

I always put BOTH the seat and down so they have to pick up the lid. hehe.

I don't get yelled at for not putting it down.

(I also don't drop stuff in the open seat either)

We have had this discussion also. Mentioned it sounds much more positive to thank me for lifting the seat before answering natures call.

As to adjusting all the stuff in the car or pickup, I prefer not to stir the pot. Just keep my mouth shut as it isn't that big of deal anyway.

I always put the seat and lid down.
My wife has a little plaque on the wall over the toilet.

If you sprinkle when you tinkle
Please be neat and wipe the seat!

ours stays closed , both ring and lid (grandkids and dropping things) but do any of you realize how much less she would have to clean (spatter) if you would sit down too ??? That thing is flexible for a reason ya know. Nothing better than getting up half asleep and knowing you aren't going to "miss" and also knowing you can catch a few more zzzz,s all while doing yer business and kill 2 or 3 birds with one stone. If you think spatters of your pee aren't getting on that toilet you are wrong! Ain't possible. Ask the one who cleans it!
