SWMBO blew the belt off the cub recently, it's the
long one (B108) that runs from the engine down
around two idlers and back to the deck. Should I buy
an expensive green one or will a regular black belt
do the job?

I found that on my Cub Cadet that anything other than the IH belt would jump off the pulleys. The IH belt seems to have a deeper V

I put the expensive green on my Huskey and it went. I put a regular black on and it's about the same.
What makes it so hard on my belts is the sharp idler bends it has to deal with.

I have never had trouble with Cub Cadet belts I bought the tractor used with a 42" mower deck a 42" snow blower and a 3 pt. hitch 36" roto tiller. In ten yrs. I have only replaced the mower deck belt once. I have an old Ariens snow blower I tried all kinds of belts on it and none lasted even a season untill I went to a Ariens dealer and got the correct belt it has lasted 5 yrs so far.

Have replaced all the belts on a cub cadet 1863 with gates without any problems what so ever. I getting them from the industrial supplier that calls on the mill, gates hy-power I believe. At 1/3 the cost. Use them on the stump grinder and 515 sickle bar as well.

I also have trouble with any belt other then cub cadet on my mower, I think they have a different angle to there pullys
