Larry,

Absolutely! That would be way cool... I'll give it a spot by some of my other rust or some old glass bottles I've collected over time (junk to most folks, but treasures to me).

I'll make you and your wife a 2015 Junkyard Art calendar if you'd like one.

Email should be open... I think.

That thing looks almost as if it were cast instead of stamped. Quite durable to have lasted that long, but then again, so am I. ( 1-15-1939 )

I can relate to you concerning junk to other people, treasure to you. I went on a mining job to the Altoplano in Chile a few years ago. At a ghost town that used to be housing for miners during the early years of the 1900s , I came across the trash dump site. There were thousands of old bottles at the site. Many that were not exposed to the weather(not much weather, doesn't rain there) still had the labels. Many were wine bottles and mineral water from all over South America and Europe. I brought a whole box full of those bottles home to AZ.I also found two silver coins, A 20 centavo coin from Chile ,1924, a 5 centavo coin from Bolivia,1902 and (go figure) an 1898 American Indian head cent.

howdy,

Well maybe I could do like Larry... and make an extra calendar to give away. I don't think I want to start selling them - it could turn into a job and I already have more work, than time. LOL.

next time I get there,Ill pull the roofing nails and send it to you, dont want to sell it,and no need to worry about sending something back, just want it to go to someone who will like it. It wasnt put there by any relatives,or relatives of any neighbors. I just thought it would be a nice way to make our site seem real,we have such a great site here. The plate will end up in rust heaven if it gets to your collection! lol

Larry,

That would be really neat! And before I said yes...I checked out ebay 1939 license plates to make sure it is NOT highly valuable (if it was, I would not have accepted it).

I'll probably work it into my wall arrangement of rust...

I also have a photo from NC Wayne that will go into that grouping. It's of an emblem on a machine that says American. (When I ever, finally, get the wall grouping done - I'll post a photo of it.)

Richard SE AZ,

Oh, that had to be fun to look through that stuff!

My bottles are mostly just old ones found around here. I have a few old beer cans too... rusty of course (LOL)... so I'm sure they have no value whatsoever - but I like 'em.

LOL I hear ya about too many jobs. I'm gonna keep my eyes open for something special and would be honered to do a swap/share. :D

Heck... in the "spirit of Larry singing on the corner", I'll just send you one - I'll go make myself a pop-up reminder to get to work on it in October and do a shout-out for your address.

Yeah, anymore work and I wouldn't even have time for my family... much less "rust".

Larry,

No, didn't come through. I'll open it here again in this reply... heading outside though - so I may not be around until tomorrow.
