Cutting hay!

Heaven help me. I took a chance on Saturday and lay down a small patch of about 8 acres. Cloudy today but it is drying pretty quick. Likely Friday I can bale it. We have two days of sun predicted. Sure felt good to be back on the hayfield where I know what I am doing.

Wish I could dare to cut hay. Weather guessers are calling for rain every day till this time next week other then on Saturday and I do not have a hay oven to dry it that fast so can not cut hay yet. I have done all of 6 6X6 round bales this year so far due to the threat of rain

South of me they took down a lot of hay this morning. Weatherman said no rain for the rest of the week. Guess what we got 1/2 rain this after noon in less than an hour

I knocked down about 25 acres today. I'd like to lay down another 20 tomorrow, but I just don't know what to do. Those big storms that popped this afternoon missed me,but now they're saying the same thing could happen again tomorrow.

Some of the hay they were cutting was taller that the haybine and a couple of fields all you could see was the upper part of the tractor. I bet they have 300 or 400 acres of hay down. We went to Houghton Lake tonight and it hadn't rained in town. It just poured here for a while and alot of thunder and lightning

No hay for me, but I'm sure not getting any soybeans sprayed! Got another shot this afternoon, not really predicted, just sort of happened.

I'm going to try to lay some down today. Not supposed to be any rain till maybe Sunday. Sure not a good year to get it up without getting it washed. Oh well, guess it could be a lot worse than it is, it could be so dry that the hay won't grow, Keith
