Lol!

James and I are some of the few people who will stoop down to pick up a penny.

Good place to look for change is the drive through window of a hamburger place. People drop it but won't get out and pick it up. Found almost a dollar that way once.

Nancy, I am with you and James.

Now some of the young cashiers at Drive Thru windows hesitate when they owe me 1 or 2 cents change as they assume I don't want it. I smile, hold out my hand and say yes , that goes in my Grandchildren's College Fund.

I bet they laugh the rest of day saying guess what some old Fogey told me today !

I'll pick'em out of the driveway when they're so corroded I can't tell if they're pennies or dimes. They'll clean up if you carry them in your pocket for a while.
I picked this one up a week or so ago. It's starting to look like maybe it's a penny. I can see some copper color coming through on the other side.

I was in Canadia last fall, northern BC. Discovered that none of the Canadian stores I went to gave pennies in their change. Seems they're trying to phase them out. I'd kind of miss 'em if they got rid of 'em here, but it sure makes sense.

~raises hand~ Picks up pennies too. :)

Once worked at an oil change place and since no one was willing to clean the vacuum cleaner I decided to do it. Average take was $7-10 a day in change, best day was $30

YES, NOW THEY SAY IT COSTS THE GOVERNMENT MORE THAN A PENNY TO MAKE A PENNY.

Oh well at least it's the Government's money........wait the Government has no money other than what we give them !
