I want to spray the electric fence and don't want the grass killed so roundup is out. Also don't want the big trees killed. There seems to be several kinds of 24d type sprays. Why the different kinds and which might work the best?

little trees and bush, thorn-apple, roses, prickery ash, blackberries, chicory, burdock, cattail, goldenrod, ragweed and other broad leaf weeds.

Used to be when you get into trees and brush, use 2,4,5-T brush killer. May need a license to buy. Always make sure the weed killer works on the weeds you have- otherwise a waste of money and misuse of herbicides.

I use 2,4-D amine @ 4oz/gallon along with 1 oz/gallon of RTU Tordon in a hand sprayer, soak pretty well, gets thistles, ash, mulberry and cedar trees here.

Crossbow or the generic Crossroad.Knocks the Locust, Blackberry, Multiflora Rose, Posion Ivy.Good stuff.1 oz. to a gallon with surfactant.

Crossbow and 2,4dAmine. 1 qt crossbow and 2 qt 2,4d per 55 gallon tank. Works like a charm for brush weeds, etc. Grass is fine and isnt touched.

(quoted from post at 18:24:55 06/23/14) IDK- I just remember Dad using it years ago. I"ve never used any, just 2,4-D for broadleafs.

2-4-5T and 2-4D mixed 50/50 is AGENT ORANGE and the 2-4-5T is the part that has been banned because it kills people....
