Just hit the towns of Stanton, Pilger, and just missed Wakefield Nebraska. There is a picture with 2 tails on the ground just leaving Pilger. Hospital in Wayne confirmed 1 fatality and 16 injured. They could use some prayers for sure. 20 miles from me and still too close.

Thoughts are with those affected by the twin "Sister" tornadoes. Been watching KTIV - Sioux City . . . .bad bad nite for those folks in Pilger. Looks a big one on the ground over by Burwell, NE as well. Pilger, NE town motto is "Too Tough to Die". I hope that's true. Everyone keep your radios handy tonight, I have a feeling were are not over this yet.

The bad weather is mostly past us now in North Central Iowa, still have thunder and rain but the winds have died down to normal.

Its a war zone around here, one tornado was less than 5 miles from me and took 4 houses and many buildings. And poor Pilger a mess than spreads 5-10 miles and over a dozen farms and acreages destroyed northeast of Pilger. Trees completely stripped of bark. chris

My prayers go out to all the people in the area!
I grew up on a farm east of there near Beemer NE. My brother was heading up there last night with an empty cattle pot to help with some livestock near there that went through the storm , but I have not talked to him since.
