My hay barn is one storey. I put down a layer of 6 mil plastic on the floor, then floored it with pallets. I put 7/16" OSB on top of the pallets. The barn is now full of spring cutting hay.
Unfortunately a skunk has taken residence under the hay in the space between the top and bottom board of the pallets. Due to the proximity to the colt barn, shooting him/her is not an option.
Should I put mothballs out at the skunk's entry point(s) during the night when he/she is out or should I put a flexible metal exhaust line to my TO-35 gas and put the other end between the pallets during the day...I don't want to burn the barn down, ruin the hay or have to cope with the odor of decomposition if I can't retrieve the carcas.
Or, do you guys have any other/better suggestions?
Thanks
