930 case engines

I own 2, 930 case's a diesel and a gas converted to LP.

It all depends on the level of care, so if you dont mind may i ask why you are asking for a number.

A well cared for 930, 401 diesel engine could last 10,000 hrs before it needs an over-haul. A poorly maintained engine may need service within a 1,000 hrs.

Its hard to put a number on something without more info.

If your looking to buy a 930 case then please consider this suggestion; go by the current condition of the tractor and not the number of hours on the machine. For an old tractor how it was maintained means more than hours.

Just a suggestion.

Neighbor has a 930 that's still in great condition with over 7K hours on it IIRC. But as the other post notes, it's a pretty hard question to answer.

Thanks for the information that changes my mind quite a bit, and another question how do you like your Gaser?

Mike, there are some amazingly specific ratings for various types and brands of engines that have been posted here. I don't remember by whom, but perhaps JDemaris or Bob. So if you don't get an answer try again in a day or two.

My gasser was converted to LP using a century conversion kit.

Its my chore tractor, personally I hope it survives me and that my family will enjoy it for years after I'm gone.

When I first bought my 930 Gasser/LP propane that summer was $0.35/gal

Propane for summer fill this year locally is $1.35/gal needless to say I love my ole tractor
